Home at the end

Part 1

“One order of Café Latte, regular please.”

“Anything else sir?” the cashier asked.

“A slice of blueberry cake, that’s all.”

“Regular Café Latte and one slice of blueberry cake. That would be 195 pesos sir,” said the cashier with a grin on her face. “I received 500 pesos sir. Here’s your change sir. May I know your name sir?”

“David,” with a big smile.

“Okay sir David. We’ll just deliver your order.”

“Thank you,” David replied.

David chose to sit the table beside the glass window and sat on the chair. He pulled out his laptop in his bag and placed it on the table and started to browse the internet. While he was checking his e-mail, someone called his name.

“Sir David?”

“Yes,” he replied.

“Here’s your order sir. Regular Café Latte and a slice of blueberry cake,” the waiter said while placing David’s orders on the table beside the laptop.

“Oh, thank you,” David said.

“Are your orders complete sir?” the waiter asked.

“Yes, yes,” David replied while turning his head towards the waiter. To his surprise, he saw the name of the waiter and read it aloud. . .”JAMES”. . .then he looked on the face of the waiter and was shocked.

Again, he repeatedly said the name of the waiter, “JAMES” now with a big smile on his face.

“David? Is that you?” asked the waiter.

“Yes, yes it’s me James. Oh God how I’ve missed you and this is where you’re hiding.”

“Can you wait for me for an hour? I’ll be out then and I’ll join you if it’s okay with you.” James said.

“Go ahead I’ll just wait here.”

David and James were born in the same village and were friends and classmates since childhood. They always play together and no day will pass without them being together. They walk along to school together and they eat together.

(to be continued)

If you have any comments or suggestions, feel free to tell me I would very much appreciate it. This is just the only way of publishing my literary works because I don’t have the funds to make my own books and I want to share this to everyone.
