Nowadays, more and more graduates are being produced by Higher Education Institutions in the Philippines. There is already an overproduction of graduates without jobs and if ever they will find one, it is not aligned with the course they finished. Most graduates end up in call centers or others in shopping malls as sales agents or baggers. The sad thing about it is that, they can’t apply what they have learned for in college where these graduates spent hundreds of thousands just to earn a degree. But what is really the problem for these graduates ending up in these jobs?
Hiring companies complain that most job seekers as under qualified. Imagine an applicant who is a degree holder can’t even converse in English. Some don’t have the skills needed in the position they are applying for. And most of all, most of the graduates today don’t even have the guts to look for work, as if work will knock on their doors. I know it’s very depressing knowing that a lot of Filipino people are well known in different crafts not just locally but internationally, but its the reality. We are being plagued by circumstances that only we have the right to either make it or break it.
It’s not yet the end for all Filipino graduates. We all know ourselves. Dream big and dream wild. We need to do something in order to uplift the quality of our graduates today. Take action now before its too late.
